Foundations for Literacy is Coming Soon!

About seven years ago, we began dreaming about a space called Book Bums. We dreamed of serving our community with a focus on literacy promotion and building face-to-face relationships with families. We slowly grew into a bustling, book-loving community in a quaint café’ setting. We didn’t make a lot of money, but we were rich in wonderful friendships and books, books, books.

And then our building sold, and we were down to one location. That one location is so busy that there is little space for literacy-focused events.

So, we could have given up . . .

Or, we could think differently.

We didn’t give up!

We are proud to announce that in July 2017, Book Bums’ Foundations for Literacy courses will be made available to anyone, anywhere, who is interested in raising up readers.

We are no longer limited to serving the families who can come to West Chester, Ohio from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday mornings. Isn’t that great?!

What seemed like a loss is actually a blessing!

We’ve been filming classes, having our materials printed, and preparing to launch our first product: Foundations for Literacy, Session 1. This session is perfect for families with four, five, or six-year-olds who are beginning to show an interest in reading and/or writing.

In this course, we provide: helpful videos, lots of fun-focused lesson materials, a helpful planning guide, and a list of high-quality, children’s books that complement each lesson. (You may get these books from your local library!) At the end of Session One, your child will absolutely be able to read words! S/He won’t just memorize a few sight words, but s/he’ll make the sounds and decode LOTS of words.  It’s amazing to be a part of the magic that takes place when a child becomes a reader!

Your child will absolutely be able to read words like: hop, den, vet, slip, trap, moth, cash, thin and much.

And our product comes with a money-back guarantee. You have nothing to lose, and so much to gain!
